Keep the pan a plaything

Why a game with no money is still 19+

Social casino games borrow the look, the sound and the rhythm of real gambling. Pan Gold Gulch is meant only for adults above the legal gambling age and is not aimed at anyone under 19. We check age twice: first on the banner that meets you at the edge of town, then with a tick you must make when you open your account.

Lines Jubal will never cross

• Offer real-money gambling at the store, or promote it.
• Hand out a prize worth anything in the real world.
• Sell you coins, or tack in-app purchases onto the games.
• Send you through links to gambling operators or affiliates.
• Rush you back with countdowns or streak counters.

A straight word from the store

A free game can be set up to feel generous, and it tops up your balance at no cost. Real-money games do neither of those things. Doing well in the gulch says nothing about how you would fare with money on the line.

Signs Jubal watches out for

• Spinning on long past the time you meant to stop.
• Getting short-tempered when the reels stop.
• Reaching for the reels to dodge a bad mood.
• Play eating into your sleep, your work or the people around you.
• Catching yourself hunting for a version with real money in it.

Keeping a hand on the brake lever

• Pick your stopping time before the tram leaves.
• Press spin yourself each time; no autoplay.
• Step off the tram for regular breaks.
• Clearing this site’s data resets everything, and if you want to quit for good, block the site in your device settings.
